Key deadlines each year
BDO means obligations all year round, not a one-off registration. These are the dates we track for you.

BDO applies to more companies than you think
- Online shops and distributors. If you ship goods in packaging within Poland, you place packaging on the market.
- Importers. Goods brought into Poland together with their packaging mean registration and reports.
- Manufacturers. Placing electrical equipment, batteries, tyres or oils on the market requires an entry in the right sections.
- Waste producers. Workshops, plants and offices with non-municipal waste often need waste records in BDO.

Questions about BDO
What is BDO?
BDO is Poland’s Database on Products, Packaging and Waste Management. The register is kept by the regional marshal offices, and the BDO system is also used to file reports and keep waste records.
Does my online shop need a BDO entry?
In most cases, yes. If you ship products in packaging to customers in Poland, you place packaging on the market and need an entry and annual reports.
What are the penalties for having no entry?
Operating without a required entry carries an administrative fine of PLN 10,000 to PLN 1,000,000. Fines also apply for missing reports and for not showing the BDO number on documents.
Can you manage our BDO on an ongoing basis?
Yes. Most clients hand us the whole year: the entry, updates, the annual report and the product fee.
